Woman arrested after firing gun outside a Gainesville home

By Caleb Hutchins Assistant News Director

A Gainesville woman was arrested this week after allegedly firing a gun outside of another person's home.

Hall County Sheriff's Office officials said Jade Taylor Aroyo, age 24, was arrested Tuesday night after the incident at the home on Heidi Lane in Gainesville. They said Aroyo was standing on the front porch of the home with a handgun and fired the shot while deputies were en route to the location.

When deputies arrived, Aroyo reportedly refused to speak with them for roughly 20 minutes and was yelling at the occupant to let her inside. She eventually placed the handgun on the porch floor and kicked it off the porch, allowing deputies to take her into custody.

Aroyo remained in the Hall County Jail without bond as of Thursday afternoon. She faces a list of charges including stalking, reckless conduct, criminal trespassing and firearms discharge near a public highway.

No one was injured during the incident.
