By AccessWDUN Staff

HOMER, Ga. – Banks County scored a touchdown right at halftime to cut an Athens Academy lead down to just eight points, but the Spartans scored all the points in the second half to win 41-6 Friday night.

Trailing 14-0, the Leopards got the ball off an interception with just under five minutes to go until halftime. After a roughing the kicker penalty gave Banks County one more play before halftime, Caden Watson caught a 13-yard pass to get the Leopards on the board and trail 14-6 at the break.

Athens Academy exploded in the second half, however, scoring 27 unanswered to stay unbeaten in region play.

Ashton Camp had 29 rushes for 105 yards to lead the attack for Banks County.

The Leopards will look ahead now to a road trip to Elbert County next week.
