COMMERCE, Ga. – Commerce found themselves in a battle Friday night against Banks County and ultimately pulled away in the second half for a 27-10 win.
The Tigers hit a pair of field goals early before Jacari Huff had a 15-yard touchdown run early in the second quarter to give Commerce a 14-0 lead. Banks County answered with a touchdown from Lane Morris before hitting a field goal of their own at the buzzer to trail 14-10 at halftime.
After a scoreless third quarter, Banks County found themselves driving in the fourth quarter, but the Tiger defense forced a turnover, setting up Jaiden Daniels to score with just under three minutes to go in the game. The Leopards looked to move the ball quickly down the field, but Ty Sorrells got a pick-six for Commerce to get to the final score.
The Tiger defense forced four turnovers on the night.
Commerce will close out the regular season next week on the road at Providence Christian, while Banks County ends their season next week at Oglethorpe County.
