By Will Daughtry News Reporter

A 24-year-old Cornelia man will be charged with murder after the search for a missing woman in Habersham County is believed to have ended with the woman dead.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) reports that they located the remains of who they believe to be 25-year-old Minelys Zoe Rodriguez-Ramirez of Cornelia.

On Monday, GBI agents arrested Angel DeJesus Rivera-Sanches in Atlanta on charges of kidnapping related to Rodriguez-Ramirez’s disappearance.

He was then taken to the Habersham County Detention Center.

Rodriguez-Ramirez was reported missing by family members on Oct. 23 after last being seen on Oct. 22.

Habersham County requested the GBI’s help on Friday.

The remains have been taken to the GBI Medical Examiner’s Office, where they will conduct an autopsy.

The investigation is active and ongoing according to the GBI. Anyone with information in the case is asked to contact the GBI at 800-597-8477.

Once the investigation is complete, the case will be given to the Mountain Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.
