Georgia crossed the 4 million voter mark on the final day of early voting.
Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger said 4,004,588 voters had cast ballots either by voting early or absentee by mail.
Georgia voters cast 3,761,968 ballots during early voting, and 242,620 ballots by mail, with 55.3% turnout. 92 Georgia counties exceeded 50% turnout.
“This was the most successful Early Voting period in Georgia history because voters trust the process,” Raffensperger said. “Four years of progress brought us here. We’re battle-tested and ready, regardless of what the critics say. And we’re going to hold those who interfere in our elections accountable.”
Raffensperger added voting is protected by state and local election officials who monitor returns for acts of interference.
The protections allowed the secretary of state to identify four individuals who may have cast multiple ballots during the Early Voting period.
Early voting ended Friday with election day coming up on Nov. 5.
