Republican Incumbent Derrick McCollum is the projected winner of Georgia State House District 30’s seat.
“It’s very humbling,” McCollum said. “I can’t tell the people of South Hall and North Gwinnett how appreciative I am and ready to go back to work.”
His opponent is Democrat Kim Floria, who has 25-percent of the vote as of 9:50 p.m. to McCollum’s 75-percent.
“I haven’t heard anything from Kim,” McCollum said. “I haven’t heard from her either time.”
The district covers south Hall County and a little bit of northern Gwinnett.
“I’m going to continue working on things that’s been near and dear,” McCollum said. “Me being a retired firefighter, public safety’s always going to be a very top issue.”
