Gainesville apartment complex pledges $55,000 to local charities

By Lawson Smith Anchor/Reporter

Gainesville-based apartment complex Treesort recently pledged $55,000 to six Hall County charities, challenging other businesses and complexes in the area to follow their lead.

The complex said in a release Monday the initiative aims to address affordability challenges in the county by specifically pledging funds to organizations that address needs such as housing and food insecurity.

“We understand the challenges faced by local families and the apartment industry," Jeannie Copeland, Treesort Property Manager said in a release. "But we believe we can—and should—do more. By supporting local charities, we can make a tangible difference in the lives of our neighbors."

The pledge kicks off Treesort’s challenge to other business owners and apartment complexes to match or exceed its commitment by the end of 2024.

"It's going to take all of us—apartment owners, business leaders, nonprofit organizations, and residents—to create lasting change," Copeland said. "By uniting as a community, we can build a brighter future for all."

Treesort pledged funds to the following Hall County-based non-profits:

  • Hall Dawson CASA

  • Humane Society of Northeast Georgia

  • Amped Kids Foundation

  •  Elachee Nature Science Center

  • Edmondson Telford Child Advocacy Center

  •  Family Promise of Hall County

Local businesses and complexes interested in joining the challenge are asked to contact Treesort at (770) 503-1000.

"This is just the beginning," Copeland said. "Our goal is to inspire other businesses, especially in the apartment sector, to step up and get involved. Together, we can create a stronger, healthier community for all."
