A teenager from Mexico is being charged as an adult in connection with a sexual battery and child molestation investigation in Hall County.

Hall County Sheriff's Office officials said Monday that Israel Jaimes Sanchez, age 17, was arrested at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport Friday, November 18 and brought to the Hall County Jail.

Investigators said they received a tip from a local school about the alleged assault.

"The victim in the case, a girl under the age of 16, reported the ongoing assaults to someone at school," officials said. "Investigators determined Sanchez had inappropriately touched the girl on multiple occasions. He also forced the victim to perform oral sex on him."

The alleged assaults took place from January through March. Sanchez's parents had reportedly sent him to the United States to live with relatives and attend school. He reportedly moved to Virginia after the crimes took place before being caught in the Atlanta airport.

Despite the alleged crimes occurring when Sanchez was 16 years old, he is being charged as an adult with aggravated sexual battery and aggravated child molestation.

As of Monday, Sanchez remained in the Hall County Jail without bond.
