Football: Commerce falls in second round to Toombs

LYONS, Ga. – Commerce saw their season come to a close Friday night at the hands of Toombs, 49-21.

The Tigers fell behind 14-0 in the first seven minutes before they finally got on the board early in the second quarter on a Jaiden Daniels 12-yard run. Toombs scored a pair of touchdowns in the second quarter as well to stretch the lead to 28-7 by intermission.

Daniels made his presence known on the opening play of the third quarter, getting a pick-six to trim the lead to 28-14, but Toombs responded with two more scores in the third and a touchdown in the fourth before Tysean Wiggins scored the final points of the game.

Daniels and Wiggins each had 60 yards rushing, while Jacari Huff was held to just 45 yards on the ground.

Commerce finishes the season with an 8-4 record.
