Several sightings of coyotes reported in Gwinnett County this week

By Steve Winslow Anchor/Reporter
Reports through Gwinnett County Police Department's (GCPD) social media posts have indicated that they have received reports of several coyote sightings in their county.

Authorities are also reminding local residents that coyotes are a natural part of our environment, while it's important to take precautions to keep yourself, your family, and your pets safe.

The GCPD's social media page is offering a few tips to keep in mind:

• Secure food sources: Remove pet food, birdseed, and fallen fruit from your yard to avoid attracting coyotes.
• Protect pets: Keep small pets indoors, especially at night. When outdoors, always supervise them and keep dogs on a leash.
• Report concerns: Call Gwinnett Animal Welfare at 770.339.3200 for assistance or if you notice unusual coyote activity.

Further reminders and details about prevention of coyote interaction can be found by linking with the GCPD's social media pages, here.
