Captain Barry Shaw with the Hall County Government Marshal’s Office was named the interim director of Development Services on Wednesday.

Hall County Government officials said Shaw ran the Marshal’s Office since 2019 and oversaw Business Licenses for close to a year.

Shaw worked with the Atlanta Police Department as the commander of APD’s Code Enforcement Section for nearly 30 years before joining Hall County.

“Barry brings a wealth of experience in leadership, customer service and quality assurance,” County Administrator Zach Propes said. “Additionally, Barry has extensive knowledge of the Hall County community. We are grateful for his willingness to serve in this interim position and know his knowledge and community relations will be invaluable in ensuring continued progress. We look forward to the positive impact he will make as we navigate this transition."

According to Hall County, Development Services Director Randi Doveton submitted her resignation effective Dec. 11 after two years of service to the citizens and developers of Hall County.

“We appreciate Randi’s work on the development of the Comprehensive Plan and UDC and her efforts towards creating a more streamlined experience in Development Services,” Propes said. “We appreciate her service to Hall County, and we wish her well in all her future endeavors.”
