Former Mountain Judicial Circuit District Attorney Mike Crawford passes away

The longtime Mountain Judicial Circuit District Attorney Mike Crawford is being remembered for his decades of tireless service and work for many in northeast Georgia, following his passing on Sunday, December 15.

A South Habersham High School and University of Georgia graduate and Navy veteran, Crawford earned his law degree from  Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School in 1975, and began working in the Mountain Judicial Circuit's district attorney’s office one year later as an assistant D.A..  He would serve the region for over 30 years, before retiring in 2007.

Crawford's daughter, former Habersham County Commissioner Natalie Adams Crawford says on her Facebook page that Crawford passed away peacefully Sunday morning, and that the family is grateful for the outpouring of love and prayers for them.

Funeral services for Michael Crawford are scheduled for 11 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 20 at First Presbyterian Church in Cornelia through McGahee-Griffin and Stewart Funeral Home of Cornelia.
