NGMC Habersham receives accreditation for pain and addiction care

By AccessWDUN Staff

Northeast Georgia Medical Center Habersham has received accreditation in Pain and Addiction Care in the Emergency Department (PACED) by the American College of Emergency Physicians.

The distinction makes NGHS the only health system in Georgia to have five hospitals providing care with that level of recognition.

“Our priority is to ensure patients receive compassionate, timely care during their most difficult moments, and this accreditation is validation that we’re setting the standard,” Angela Gary, MSN, executive director of Trauma and Emergency Services for all NGMC hospitals and chief nursing officer of NGMC Braselton said in a release. “We all appreciate our emergency nurses, physicians and staff bringing their best every day.”

PACED accreditation recognizes  emergency departments with programs that provide care for patients suffering from pain or addiction by using progressive treatment protocols, training and other resources.

“It means so much to see our team recognized for the way they care for patients,”  Beth Hester, RN, nurse manager at NGMC Habersham’s emergency department, said. “I’m constantly inspired by their kindness and dedication to making sure every patient feels cared for and supported when they need it most.”
