The 46th annual GALA Fine Arts Auction was recently announced by the Quinlan Visual Arts Center.

Quinlan Visual Arts Center Executive Director Nairika K. Cornett said the three-day event will begin Thursday, Feb. 29, and ends Saturday, Mar. 2. It will include silent and live fine art auctions.

The exhibition opens with a Preview Night Party that is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Feb. 29 and is open to the public.

The online silent auction will open at the same time as the preview party. The online silent auction does not require tickets and registration is free around the world.

The event will culminate with a black tie event on Mar. 2 which is a ticketed event.

Over 150 pieces of art, ranging in price, subject matter and mediums will be featured.

Patrons can also expect food trucks, free activities for children and quality time with participating artists and art enthusiasts.

“Our two featured artists guests of honor this year are Paula Hoffman she is a Gainesville native and oil painter and Jane Hemmer, also from Gainesville, she is a sculptor,” Cornett said.

Nearly 50 artists will be featured including Dennis Campay, Alexi Torres, Julie Miller Torres, David Wendel, Pedro Fuertes, Marilyn Sparks, Jill and Patrick McGannon, Rae Broyles, Gayle Levée and more.

“It is an honor when nationally celebrated artists come to the Quinlan to come on board. This year, we even have a work from Canada. The Quinlan is making its mark on a national stage,” Cornett said.
