9 dogs facing euthanasia at Hall County Animal Shelter successfully adopted

By AccessWDUN Staff

The Hall County Animal Shelter says 9 dogs were at risk of being put down if they were not adopted Saturday and as of 5 p.m., all nine have been successfully adopted.

In a flurry of adoptions in the final 30 minutes at the Hall County Animal Shelter, all nine dogs were adopted, according to the Hall County Animal Shelter Volunteer Facebook page.

"Thank you, thank you, thank you," the post reads. "This would never have happened without the community’s support. Words are so inadequate, we are all jumping up and down in celebration this week."

The Hall County Animal Shelter says nine dogs are at risk of being put down if they are not adopted by 4 p.m. Saturday and community members are urged to consider bringing home a new furry friend.

According to an earlier social media post from Hall County Animal Shelter Volunteers, rescues are currently full, and the shelter has been unable to get any help saving the dogs. That follows the announcement earlier this week that the Humane Society of Northeast Georgia would be temporarily closing to the public due to the spread of parvovirus.

"If you have been considering adding a furry family member, no time has been more URGENT THAN NOW," the post reads. "SATURDAY IS THE DEADLINE. These dogs are facing a LIFE OR DEATH situation. We are absolutely sick over these dogs. YOU can be the reason they have a second chance."

The adoptions must be made by 4 p.m. today, Saturday, March 9.
