GAINESVILLE, Ga. — Korbyn Sosebee cranked a solo home run to lead off the fifth inning, and that was all that North Hall needed in taking a dramatic 1-0 win over East Forsyth on Friday.

The win gave the Trojans (13-2, 2-1 Region 8-4A North) the series win over the Broncos (11-5, 1-2 Region 8-4A North).

Luke Sanders made it stand up on the mound, scattering five hits and walking three with four strikeouts in a complete-game effort.

But it didn’t come easy as East Forsyth got a pair of two-out singles in the top of the seventh before Sanders was able to get Bradlee Hamby to ground out to end the game.

Hamby started for the Broncos and gave up two hits and five walks in three innings, but he did not surrender a run because he worked out of trouble. Wyatt Barden took the tough-luck loss, giving up just one hit in one inning in relief.

Hamby, Matthew Lyons, Trey Farr, Will Moffitt, and Zach Aschoff each had one hit for East Forsyth.

Sosebee also had a single as part of his two hits, while Sanders, Jon Jon Read, and Ty Kemp all had a hit for North Hall.

East Forsyth will jump back into region action on Monday, opening up a three-game series with Chestatee at home.

North Hall will travel to White County on Monday as they will play non-region games next week.

BUFORD 9,
MOUNTAIN VIEW 2

The Wolves won their fifth consecutive game and swept the Bears in their Region 8-7A opening series.

Senior Damian Brown made his first start of the season on the mound and got the win, going 4 2/3 innings, yielding two runs on four hits and striking out nine.

The Buford offense battered three Mountain View pitchers for 11 hits and drew eight walks. Senior Ethan Murray smacked a three-run homer as part of his four RBI on the day, while sophomore Cam Wood had three hits and drove in three runs for Buford (9-4, 3-0 Region 8-7A). Junior Cannon Goldin had two hits, stole three bases, and scored three times for the Wolves.

Buford next will travel to rival Mill Creek on Monday to open a three-game series with the Hawks.
