A man was reportedly killed this week in a heavy machinery incident near Commerce.
A report from the Athens Banner-Herald said the man, identified by the Jackson County Sheriff's Office as James William Sanders, 30, of Nicholson, was killed Tuesday morning.
Sanders was reportedly working on a farm off Sandy Creek Road when the incident happened.
Jackson County Deputy Coroner Jeff Rogers told the Banner-Herald that Sanders was working on a hydraulic line on a piece of road equipment.
Sanders was reportedly found under the machine. Two men delivering tires to the location used another piece of equipment to pull Sanders out from under the machine.
