Crash near Clermont leaves two from Cleveland injured

Update Tues. April 9:

Hall County authorities now say a crash on U.S. 129 near Clermont Monday left two people injured.

B.J. Williams with the Hall County Sheriff's Office said the wreck happened around 1:00 p.m. when a vehicle driven by Everett Leonard Arrington, age 74 of Cleveland, pulled out of the parking lot of Mountain Fresh Creamery and into the path of a southbound vehicle on U.S. 129, leading to the collision.

Both Arrington and the driver of the second vehicle, Sarah Elizabeth Renaud, age 78 of Cleveland, were injured and taken from the scene to nearby hospitals. Their injuries were described as non-life-threatening.

A juvenile passenger in Renaud's vehicle was reportedly not injured.

Arrington was cited for failure to yield while entering a roadway. The crash left traffic impacts on the U.S. 129 corridor near Clermont until around 2:45 p.m.

A driver was injured in a crash just north of Clermont in northern Hall County Monday afternoon.

No details on how the crash happened have been released, but authorities confirmed the wreck happened on U.S. 129 at the Mountain Fresh Creamery near Hub Head Road. The driver of one of the vehicles involved was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment according to Hall County Fire Rescue Public Information Officer Kimberlie Ledsinger.

The crash had at least one lane of U.S. 129 blocked during part of the early afternoon commute. The Hall County Sheriff's Office is investigating the crash.
