Habitat for Humanity of Hall County dedicates 26th home in Copper Glen Subdivision

Habitat for Humanity of Hall County dedicated its 26th home in the Copper Glen Subdivision Thursday afternoon to the Jackson Family.

Volunteers put thousands of hours of work into the home, including new homeowners Kenneth and Coneisha Jackson. The two put in 415 hours and 319 hours of volunteer work on the new home, respectively. In total, over 4,500 community volunteer hours went into the Jackson family's home.

The home is located off Candler Road south of Gainesville.

Habitat for Humanity helps construct affordable housing for eligible community members. Once complete, the homeowners receive a 20-year interest-free mortgage.

"The Jackson home has been a long time coming," Holly Johnson, volunteer coordinator with the organization said. "The Jacksons actually came to Habitat first in 2019 and were denied based on some internal credit things. They worked very diligently to fix that right up and in 2021 started their journey with Habitat for Humanity of Hall County officially."

29 homes will be constructed by Habitat in the Copper Glen subdivision. Once complete, Habitat will shift to a new parcel of land off Cagle Road for a new subdivision.
