United looks to keep home streak going vs. FC Cincinnati

ATLANTA — Atlanta United returns to action Saturday when it plays host to FC Cincinnati at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

The match is set to kick-off at 7:30 p.m.

Atlanta holds an all-time record of 5-2-5 against Cincinnati in MLS play: 3-1-2 at home, 2-0-3 on the road and 0-1-0 at neutral sites. This is the first of two meetings between the teams in 2024 as Atlanta will travel to face Cincinnati on May 15.

Atlanta is 3-0-1 at home in 2024, outscoring opponents 11-3.

United enters the weekend tied for the fewest goals conceded in MLS with seven and is tied for the second-best goal differential at plus-five. The team currently ranks fourth in MLS in expected goals per shot against after finishing 20th in that statistic in 2023.

Thiago Almada recorded seven key passes against Philadelphia on Sunday, his highest total of the season and the second-best mark of his MLS career. Almada leads the league in shot-creating actions per 90 minutes at 7.83. Cincinnati midfielder Luciano Acosta ranks second at 7.73.

Caleb Wiley scored his first goal of the season against Philadelphia and was named to the MLS Team of the Matchday. At 19 years old, the left back has played in 62 MLS regular season matches, which is the most by an Atlanta Homegrown player, and has recorded six goals and six assists.
