The City of Gainesville is inviting residents to celebrate Georgia Cities Week April 21-27 with an open house of its newly renovated Historic Gainesville City Hall.

City Hall will be open to the public on April 23  from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at 117 Jesse Jewell Parkway in downtown Gainesville.

Originally Constructed in 1937, the renovations aim to preserve the historic architecture of the building while also introducing a few modern touches.

“This carefully restored space provides an exquisite backdrop for quaint weddings, evening events and corporate retreats, offering a captivating setting where history and celebration seamlessly intertwine,” a release from the city’s website said.  “If seeking out one of Gainesville’s premier event venues, prepare to create unforgettable memories in this beautifully preserved gem, where the legacy of Gainesville comes to life in every event hosted within its storied walls.”

On-site parking will be limited during the event. Those planning to attend were advised to use the Main Street Parking Deck, located at 301 Main St. SW, or Hall County Parking Facility, located at 225 Green St. SE. Both decks are located within walking distance to City Hall.
