White County Clerk Shanda Murphy was named the 2024 recipient of the County Clerk of the Year Award by the Georgia County Clerks Association.
Murphy was presented with the honor April 27 during ACCG's Leadership Awards Gala in Savannah Georgia.
"Shanda exemplifies unwavering dedication to her career and the constituents of White County,” Travis Turner, Chairman of the White County Board of Commissioners, said in a release. “Her commitment in doing so keeps White County running as smoothly as possible and makes her an essential asset to our organization."
In a letter of recommendation, Chairman Turner also highlighted Murphy’s enthusiasm towards her duty.
"Her unwavering commitment to upholding the integrity and honor of her role as White County Clerk is evident in every aspect of her work,” he wrote. “ The Board of Commissioners recognizes Shanda as an invaluable asset to the county, appreciating her continued support and
Dedication."
Murphy began serving White County in 2005 as Human Resources Director. She began working as County Clerk in 2008. She attended Truett-McConnell College (now Truett-McConnell University) and North Georgia College (now University of North Georgia), where she earned a Bachelor's of Science degree in Psychology.
