Alto man charged for assaulting hospital security guard, obstructing medical personnel

An Alto man was recently charged for allegedly assaulting a member of the Northeast Georgia Medical Center Habersham staff Tuesday night.

Habersham County Public Information Officer Rob Moore said warrants allege that Christopher Jarred Martin caused visible bodily harm to a security officer with Northeast Georgia Health System.

Martin allegedly “kicked the victim in the face causing abrasions and swelling to the bridge of his nose and biting the victim’s left hand, causing broken skin, swelling, and bruising while within the emergency room of Northeast Georgia Medical Center Habersham while being restrained, a lawful duty of the victim in the safety and security operations of the emergency medical facility”

Martin was also charged with obstruction of emergency medical technician.
