Activities are now underway for a full weekend of automotive action in Hall County, and in particular, at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta.
Hall County Sheriff’s deputies expect traffic delays in the area of 5300 Winder Highway/Ga. 53 for the Drift Atlanta events. Motorists will experience heavy traffic in the area through Saturday night, May 11. Heaviest delays are expected during the start of Friday night's events at around 6:00 p.m. and at the conclusion of the main event Saturday night, between the hours of 10:00 and 11:30 p.m.
Commuters are to be advised that on Saturday evening, southbound traffic on Ga. 53/Winder Highway will be diverted to Ga. 211/Tanners Mill Road. Northbound vehicles will be directed onto Benefield Road.
Saturday night's detour is expected to last until approximately 11:30 p.m.
