A Gillsville man was arrested Monday after two threat incidents over the weekend.
Hall County Sheriff’s Office deputies were called Saturday to the parking lot of a business in the 1700 block of Atlanta Highway in Gainesville where three victims reported they were threatened by Juan Jose Hernandez, 40, of Gillsville.
Hernandez also goes by the alias of Gabriel Avila, authorities said.
An initial investigation into the first incident concluded Hernadez was allegedly in possession of a handgun which he racked to threaten a male victim that owed him money. Hernadez reportedly also pointed the handgun at a female victim in an attempt to rob her of her cell phone. He then pushed a third female victim during the altercation.
Hernandez left the scene only after the male victim paid him part of his debt.
During a welfare check the following day on Sunday, HCSO deputies discovered Hernadez had also sent recorded threats via Facebook Messenger threatening bodily harm to the male victim.
Hernandez was charged with felony aggravated assault, simple assault and simple battery for the incident on May 18. He was also charged with terroristic threats and acts for the incident on May 19. He remained in the Hall County Jail with no bond as of last report.
