The Gwinnett County Police Department is searching for a third burglary suspect in a series of “attic burglaries” in the Norcross area.
Officers reportedly were called to the Eliot Apartments on Graves Road in unincorporated Norcross on June 3 to reports of a burglary in progress. Once on the scene, authorities allegedly witnessed suspects enter a victim’s home via an attic located in the building’s common hallway. Once inside the attic space, a suspect forced entry into the victim’s apartment by breaking a hole in the ceiling, the police department said.
Two suspects, Martin Lorenzo Lopez Altamirano, 47, of Norcross, and Juan Carlos Carranza-Matamoros, 24, also of Norcross, were both arrested without incident and booked into the Gwinnett County Jail.
Detectives are still searching for Eduardo Jose Aviles, 40, of Marietta. Aviles is accused of having a connection to another burglary where the suspect used a similar method of entering a home via an unsecured attic.
