Lanier Islands to host 3-day celebration over July 4th weekend

Lanier Islands is preparing for a three-day celebration that will span the entire Independence Day weekend, highlighting the new addition of a unique water coaster.

The summer season reportedly kicked off with the debut of a new watercoaster at the park, spanning 418 feet with the "most significant drop of its kind in the U.S.," officials said Tuesday.

Now the resort is planning to host a July 4th celebration across three days and nights, including fireworks, beach activities and more.

“Lanier Islands is already very well-known for our Fourth of July celebration throughout the Southeast,” Vice President of Lanier Islands Matthew Bowling said. “Independence Day at the Islands has become a cherished tradition for many families in Georgia and beyond. However, those celebrations will pale in comparison to what we and our friends at Margaritaville have in store for 2024."

Bowling went on to share further details about the upcoming festivities.

"To encourage our guests to experience as much fun as possible, the resort is featuring a holiday staycation special on accommodations," Bowling said. "If they book three nights at Legacy Lodge, Legacy Villas, or The LakeHouses at Legacy, they will save 15% off their stay. If they book five nights, they’ll save 20%. We’ll also have poolside music, a movie night, an incredible series of buffets at our Sidney’s restaurant, and resort cart rentals exclusively for hotel guests.”
