Gainesville man arrested in connection to a burglary

By Will Daughtry News Reporter

A Gainesville man was arrested on Sunday in connection to a residential burglary.

Hall County deputies were dispatched to a house on Black Drive on July 11 after the owners called 9-1-1 to report someone entering their house by breaking their windows.

Officials say that the owners reported copper wiring and pipes being removed from the house.

The investigation uncovered that the house was vacant, recently undergoing renovation. The amount of damage and stolen copper from the house was estimated to be $4,000.

After Hall County Sheriff’s Office’s property crimes unit got on the case, they interviewed witnesses and talked to a nearby recycling business.

This led investigators to tying 42-year-old Quentin Donyae Brown to the break-in and thefts.

Brown was charged with burglary in the first degree, theft by taking, and criminal damage to property in the second degree.

Brown remains in the Hall County jail as of last check.
