Murrayville man arrested in Commerce after allegedly threatening former employer with firearm

A Murrayville man was arrested Monday after he allegedly threatened his former employer at Auto Gallery Dodge in Commerce.

The Commerce Police Department said Dustin Humphries, 36 came into the store on Saturday to ask for the reinstallation of his job. During the initial incident, he allegedly flashed a pistol and asked to fight.

Commerce officers were made aware of the incident on Saturday. Humphries reportedly came back to the store on Monday where officers arrested him. 

Police searched his vehicle and allegedly uncovered a long gun with a homemade suppressor, a pistol with a homemade suppressor and a homemade explosive device. 

Humphries was booked into the Jackson County Jail on charges of possession and use of drug-related objects, possession of a sawed-off shotgun, possession of an explosive device and simple assault. 

He remains in jail with no bond as of Wednesday afternoon.
