Gainesville Middle School West Campus has undergone a change in both principal and assistant principal just days into the school year.
Gainesville City Schools Superintendent Jeremy Williams confirmed Monday morning that former principal of the school Louis Mair has been transferred to an assistant principal role at Gainesville High School. The former assistant principal of GMS West, Cardiss Lee-Parker, has been transferred to Mundy Mill Arts Academy as an administrative coordinator.
Former Gainesville High School Assistant Principal Dr. Adrian Cromwell has been named the interim principal of GMS West, with Dr. Chad Crumley being named interim assistant principal. Crumely as served as math coordinator for the school system over the last year after previously working as assistant principal at both Centennial Arts Academy and Gainesville Middle School East Campus.
"While it is never ideal to make an administrative change this early in the school year, there were scheduling challenges for students and families at GMS West. We believe it was in the best interest of everyone involved to provide a new voice and direction as we kick off this school year," Williams said in a statement Monday.
