By Will Daughtry News Reporter

A sewage spill Wednesday morning near Tumbling Creek Road allowed roughly 1,200 gallons to reach Balus Creek.

The Gainesville Department of Water Resources (DWR) got the call about the leak at around 9:30 a.m. and flow was restored and the issue was resolved by 10:15 a.m.

The area of the spill was looked at and no dead aquatic life was found. Field checks for water quality were also within state water quality standards.

The Georgia Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Environmental Protection Division was notified Wednesday and signs were posted.
