Cherokee Bluff rose nine spots to No. 5 in the latest Georgia High School Association Class 3A Playoff Rankings released Monday afternoon.
Bluff (3-0, .719 PSR) knocked off North Hall on Friday to remain undefeated. Long County (1-0) is atop the rankings with a .845 PSR.
West Hall (2-1, .702) had the biggest jump in the area after a convincing win over Chestatee, previously ranked 10th in the playoff rankings. The Spartans moved from No. 30 to seventh, while the War Eagles (1-1 .555 PSR) dropped to 22nd.
Jefferson (2-1, .714 PSR) moved up 14 spots to No. 6, one spot behind region mate Cherokee Bluff. Lumpkin County (1-1, .551 PSR) moved 15 spots to 23rd. East Hall (2-0, .541 PSR) dropped from 19th to 24th. Dawson County (0-2, .358 PSR) moved down to 44th, North Hall (0-2, .337 PSR) dropped to 47th, Johnson (0-1, .192 PSR) is No. 60, and White County (0-2, .125 PSR) is ranked No. 62.
In Class 2A, East Jackson (2-1, .543 PSR) is the highest-ranked area team, moving up seven spots to 17th. Union County (0-2) also moved up from 49th to 22nd. No. 24, and Union County (0-2, .471 PSR) is 49th. Ringgold is the highest-ranked public school in Class 2A (3-0, .805 PSR).
Rabun County (1-1, .450 PSR) remains the highest-ranked area team but dropped in the poll from No. 23 to 40th in Class A Division 1. Commerce's (1-2, .369) win over Class 4A Luella moved them up from No. 54 to 45th, and Banks County (0-2, .271) fell from 46th to No. 53.
The GHSA will use the playoff rankings to seed the playoffs this season in Class A, Division 1 through Class 3A.
