SUWANEE, Ga. — Lambert remained unbeaten in Region 6-6A after taking a wild 48-43 win over North Forsyth on Thursday night at Lambert Stadium.

The Longhorns (3-2, 2-0 Region 6-6A) ran out to a stunning, and quick, 35-0 lead in the first quarter, highlighted by an 80-yard touchdown run from Cameron Bland to open the game. Defensive end Jett Conley got a 55-yard fumble recovery for a touchdown and Ethan Daughtery tossed TD passes of 23 and 39 yards as part of the early barrage for Lambert.

North Forsyth fought back to within 42-14 by the end of the period on a pair of 80-yard TD passes from quarterback Eli Seaney to Avery Adams and Brady Holbrook. It stayed that way through the half and into the third quarter.

The Raiders (3-2, 1-1 Region 6-6A) continued their comeback as Darron Parry scored on a 2-yard TD run, Colter Vela added a 35-yard INT return for a touchdown, and Holbrook snagged his second 80-yard bomb of the game to pull North Forsyth within 42-36 by the end of the third quarter.

North Forsyth completed the massive rally when Holbrook gave them their first lead at 43-42 on a 10-yard fumble recovery for a score in the fourth quarter.

But Lambert’s Daughtery found Christian Smith on a 28-yard TD pass, his second of the game, in the final minute to thwart the Raiders’ impressive comeback.

Seaney finished 16-of-29 for 352 yards passing and 3 TDs. The Raiders came into the game with no turnovers in the first half of the season but saw that end as Seaney tossed his first two interceptions of the season to go with the fumble that led to a Lambert defensive score.

Lambert piled up 248 yards passing from Daughtery and also got 228 yards on the ground.

North Forsyth managed just 112 yards rushing for the game.

The Raiders are off next week before playing host to Denmark in two weeks.

Lambert also has next week off before traveling to North Atlanta in two weeks.
