By AccessWDUN Staff

DAHLONEGA, Ga. – Lumpkin County got back on the winning track Friday night with a 49-25 win over Chestatee in Region 6-3A action.

It was the Cal Faulkner show, as the quarterback accounted for three passing scores and two rushing touchdowns on the night. He started with a 7-yard pass to Trent Mobley before running in from five yards out on the next drive. After a scoop and score made it 21-0 and the War Eagles hit a 26-yard Isaiah Glez field goal and a Colton Steele touchdown run, Faulkner ran in from 10 yards out to take the score to 28-10 at intermission.

The Indians got another scoop and score to open the second half before Faulkner linked up with Mason Hester for 63 yards and a 42-10 lead. Ben Plemons answered for Chestatee to cut the lead to 42-18, but Faulkner got one more passing score, a 12-yard pass to Colton Lee. Izayah Ledford's 8-yard rushing score in the fourth ended the scoring.

Faulkner was 20-of-24 for 283 yards through the air and added 33 yards on his five rushing attempts. Ben Plemons led the War Eagles with 141 yards rushing on 16 carries.

The Indians will travel to Cleveland next week to take on White County, while Chestatee will be on the road again next week at Johnson.
