Four Ellijay men arrested in Gilmer County murder case

A fourth suspect from Elijay is in custody behind the September 18 murder of a Jasper woman in Gilmer County.

Gilmer County's Sheriff's Office says in a social media post on September 21 that they arrested 19-year old Anthony Jared Inestruza Whisnant overnight, a day after the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) announced the arrests of three other suspects for the felony murder 19-year old of Mallory Warden.

A press release from the GBI on September 20 says they arrested and charged Gray Anthony McClure, age 21, Robert Gabriel Shoilekov, age 17, and Davonnte Lavon Brehon, age 18, all of Ellijay for the shooting death of Warden.

The shooting death of a Jasper woman has led to the arrest and apprehension of three Gilmer County men from late last week.

, with felony murder. 

The investigation indicates on Wednesday, September 18 at about 10:50 p.m., Gilmer County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a call regarding a person shot. Deputies and medical personnel responded to the 200 block of South Main Street in Ellijay, where Mallory Warden, age 19, of Jasper, was found in a car with a gunshot wound. The shooting took place on Talona Road in Gilmer County. Warden was taken to the hospital where she later died.
