COMMERCE, Ga. — Commerce’s three-headed triple-option monster was on full display Saturday afternoon at Tiger Stadium.

Jaiden Daniels, Tysean Wiggins, and Jacari Huff combined for 206 yards and 4 touchdowns in the first half alone to lead the Tigers to an impressive 42-27 win over Elbert County in a crucial Region 8-A Division 1 matchup for both teams.

Huff had just under 200 yards on the day and scored four times. The Tigers ran for just under 300 yards for the game.

The game was originally scheduled to be played at The Granite Bowl in Elberton on Friday. But Hurricane Helene knocked out power to parts of Elbert County and they were forced to move the game to Saturday and to Commerce.

But no matter where the game was played, fans got a show from both teams.

The Tigers (3-3, 1-1 Region 8-A D1) stormed out to a 21-0 lead early in the second quarter on scoring runs from Huff (3-yards), Daniels (4-yards) and Wiggins (33-yards). The second Commerce touchdown was set up by a Jace Lyle interception.

The Commerce defense would pick off Elbert County quarterback Jayvyn Hickman four times.

The Blue Devils (2-4, 1-1 Region 8-A D1) did not score until Ty'rikis Jones ran in from 28-yards midway through the second quarter to cut the lead to 21-6.

But Huff answered back for Commerce two minutes later with a 40-yard scamper to give the Tigers a 28-6 halftime lead.

The teams traded touchdowns early in the third quarter and then Hickman’s third INT, after Elbert County had cut it to 28-13, led to a Huff exploding for a 58-yard score around the left end to make it 35-13.

Terrence Burtch scored on a 7-yard run from Commerce midway through the third to push the lead to 42-13. The Blue Devils got a pair of TD passes in the fourth quarter for the final score.

The Tigers' win sets up a huge showdown with Rabun County next week at home in another crucial Region 8-A Division 1 showdown.

Elbert County will travel to Providence Christian next week in region action.
