A Gainesville man has been charged with rape and is in the Hall County Jail without bond.
That comes after 19-year-old Ricardo Ismael Franco turned himself in Wednesday morning according to officials.
The investigation by the Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) began on Nov. 18 of last year when the crime was reported.
Initial details allege that Franco raped another 19-year-old woman at his residence on Lancer Court on Nov. 17, 2024 and that he knew the victim prior to the crime.
The case remains under investigation.
