Hall Co. reports armed robbery at convenience store

By Will Daughtry News Reporter

The Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) issued a be on the lookout after a reported armed robbery in December.

According to the sheriff’s office, three men in a red Honda Accord confronted two other men in a parking lot at Don Mangum Grocery on Harmony Church Road on Dec. 20 of last year.

Derreck Booth with the Sheriff's Office said that the meeting was pre-arranged.

"The two victims were going to sell two telephones to the three suspects," Booth said.

It was then that the three men allegedly robbed the two men at the east Hall convenience store.

Booth said that two of the three suspects were armed.

"Two of the suspects were armed. One of them was armed with a shotgun, another had a hatchet," Booth said.

During the robbery, one of the suspects reportedly fired the shotgun, but did not hit anyone.

The man with the hatchet allegedly swung it and left a small nick on the victim's hand.

Booth did add that even with a tag number, the vehicle at this point in the investigation is "immaterial."

The three then left. Anyone with information on the incident should contact Investigator Scott Buffington at (678) 630-9773.
