GAINESVILLE, Ga. — State championships, all-state honors, and all-american status are among the accolades accomplished by the Gainesville Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2025.

Bruce Miller, Ronnie Wilson, Katie B. Davis, Bo Wren, the state championship baseball team of 1949, and the state championship girls basketball teams of 2001, 2003 and 2004 will all be inducted as part of the hall’s sixth class on April 19 during a ceremony at the Gainesville Civic Center.

A 1968 graduate of GHS, Wilson played football, basketball, and baseball for the Red Elephants, the former of which earned him a scholarship to Wofford, where he became a small college All-American.

Davis, a 1997 GHS graduate, was a four-sport athlete who earned all-state status in three of those sports (softball, basketball, & soccer), doing so multiple years in two (softball & basketball). A North-South All-Star selection her senior year in softball and basketball, Davis earned a basketball scholarship to Austin Peay State University.

Wren, who graduated from GHS in 2007, was a four-year letterman in wrestling, placing third in the state as a sophomore before winning two individual state wrestling championships in 2006 and 2007. Also a three-year letterman in football, Wren went on to play for Virginia Military Institute.

In his 17 years at the helm of the program, former Gainesville High School football coach Bruce Miller led the Red Elephants to the 2012 Class 5A state championship - the tradition-rich program’s only one - as well as to a state runner-up finish, three other state semifinal berths, and eight region titles.
