Investigators in White County arrested a Cleveland man in two alleged burglaries at an area high school and elementary school from early Sunday morning.
The White County Sheriff’s Office reported in a Facebook post that an individual dressed in camouflage clothing, gloves and a black mask broke into the White County High School sports complex concession stand on Feb. 23 at 1 a.m. The suspect then went to Tesnatee Gap Elementary School, where hereportedly unlawfully entered the school's cafeteria office and stole $30.
The elementary school’s faculty contacted law enforcement the following morning on Feb. 24. Deputies cleared the school and used security footage to discover the suspect was riding a blue and black bicycle at the time of the break-in.
After surveying the area, investigators were able to locate a bicycle matching the description of the one seen in surveillance footage at a residence in the area of both schools. Investigators then spoke to the resident of the home, and later secured a search warrant.
During the search, investigators reportedly obtained evidence identifying Christopher Crocker as a suspect in the case. Crocker was located in Doraville on Feb.25 and arrested without incident.
Crocker faces charges of two counts of burglary in the second degree and two counts of criminal damage to property in the case.
