Fiberglass insulation manufacturer Johns Manville will soon construct a new production line in Barrow County.
A release from the Barrow County government Wednesday said construction for the new facility is expected to start in early 2026, with the production becoming fully-operational in mid-2027.
“Barrow County is and will continue to be a great place to do business, and we are appreciative of the leadership at Johns Manville for their continued investment into our community. The company serves as a valuable business partner and, more importantly, a great neighbor to citizens,” Pat Graham, Barrow County Chairman, said. “I would also like to extend my gratitude to County Manager Srikanth Yamala, who worked tirelessly to complete this deal during his time as Interim Economic Development Director.”
The company currently has a local plant located in Winder. The new production line will create over 30 new jobs in Barrow County, including operators, maintenance technicians and warehouse employees. Once onstruction is complete, Johns Manville will employ over 350 people in Barrow County.
“Johns Manville is thrilled to invest in the Barrow County community, recognizing the immense potential for growth and collaboration,” Greg Clarke, President of Insulation Systems with Johns Manville, said. “We value our positive relationship with local leaders, whose support and ongoing partnership are important to JM’s ability to remain an employer of choice in the area.”
