LILBURN, Ga. — In an early battle of ranked teams to stay atop the Region 6-3A standings, Chestatee dropped a tough 1-0 decision to Greater Atlanta Christian on Friday.
It lived up to the hype as it was a scoreless defensive battle into the second half. But the Private ninth-ranked Spartan (5-2, 3-0 Region 6-3A) found the back of the net in the 59th minute.
The Class 3A fourth-ranked War Eagles (5-2, 1-1 Region 6-3A) could not find the equalizer, however.
Chestatee, which is in the midst of a seven-game road trip, next will travel to Dawson County on Tuesday in another key Region 6-3A showdown.
