Franklin County school to be closed Wednesday due to water main break

By Caleb Hutchins Assistant News Director

A water main break will cause the closure of a school in Franklin County on Wednesday.

Tuesday afternoon, the Franklin County School System announced that a water main break has shut off water to Franklin County Middle School near Carnesville.

"FCMS will be closed for in-person learning," a social media post by the school system said. "Both teachers and students will work from home."

The school system said repairs on the water main are expected to be finished on Wednesday with in-person classes at the middle school expected to resume Thursday.

The main break is not affecting any other schools in the county.
