A morning rush hour truck fire forced the temporary closure of I-85 northbound travel lanes Tuesday.
Jackson County Fire Chief Ben Stephens told AccessWDUN that their crews were dispatched to I-85 by mile marker 128 just before 7:40 A.M. Upon arrival, they found a tractor trailer fully involved in smoke and flames about 100 yards away from a flat bed truck along the right lane and shoulder.
The unidentified flat bed truck driver was later transported to a nearby hospital with injuries while fire crews doused the truck fire. The incident is under investigation with Hall County and City of Braselton Police Departments respective accident teams.
The cause for the crash has not been released as of last publication.
