It will come down to a one-game showdown for both Habersham Central and Flowery Branch on Wednesday to keep their 2025 playoffs alive.
The Raiders (21-13) are looking for their first-ever trip to the Elite in Class 5A and had a chance on Tuesday but could complete the two-game sweep of South Paulding after winning the opening game of their best-of-three series. The Spartans (27-6) are ranked sixth in Class 5A and are trying to avenge a series loss to Habersham Central in the 2024 playoffs.
In Class 4A, Flowery Branch took the opening game against fourth-ranked Wayne County but the Yellow Jackets (29-5) rallied to win Game 2 on Tuesday. The Falcons (19-12) are looking for their first Elite 8 berth since 2018 after falling in the second round each of the last five playoffs (the GHSA did not hold baseball playoffs in 2020.).
Buford in Class 6A and East Forsyth in Class 4A both were eliminated on Tuesday.
Classes 3A and below will open their second round series' on Thursday.
