Ethel Louise Broome Purdy

Ethel Louise Broome Purdy, age 89 of Baldwin, passed away Friday, May 29, 2020.

Born in Homer, Georgia on June 29, 1930, Mrs. Purdy was the daughter of the late Henry and Josie Age Broome.  Mrs. Purdy was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.  She was an avid flower gardener and she liked to shop.  Mrs. Purdy also enjoyed watching westerns and Fox 5 News.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Purdy is preceded in death by husband Gordon Purdy, sister Hazel Broome Brindel, brothers Marion Broome and Efford Broome, son Ronnie Purdy, grandson Ronald Purdy and son in law Reynolds Fry.

Survivors include daughters Ann Purdy Fry of Clarkesville and Jane Purdy Garrett of Alto, daughter in law Dorla Smith Purdy of Demorest, sister Frediva Broome Purdy of Hull, six grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

In consideration of public health and safety, private graveside services will be held at Clarkesville Memorial Cemetery on Monday, June 1, 2020.
