Jack Carson Jones

Mr. Jack Carson Jones, 92, of Gainesville passed away Friday, July 17, 2020 at his residence following a brief illness.

Private services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, July 19, 2020 in the chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Rev. Bobby Brown will officiate. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Born on January 31, 1928 in Atlanta, GA he was the son of the late Erastus Shelnutt and Nellie Ruth Jones. Mr. Jones was a veteran of the United States Army. He was retired from Fulton County Fire Department and was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Jones is preceded in death by his brothers, Earl and Harold Jones.

Mr. Jones is survived by his wife of 68 years, Mary Jones of Gainesville; daughters and sons in law, Vicki and Wyndell Masters of Gainesville, Lisa and Mark Butler of Gainesville; son and daughter in law, Larry and Elizabeth Jones of Gainesville; grandchildren, Kimberly Butler, Kristy Mycroft, Jessica Kemp, Sean Masters, Lindsey Garcia; 5 great grandchildren; sister, Betty Jones; of Gainesville and a number of other relatives.
