Nettie Ruth Thompson Wood

Nettie Ruth Thompson Wood, 87, of Sugar Hill, GA passed away Tuesday, July 27, 2020. She was preceded in death by her husband of thirty-two years, John William Wood; parents, Clarence and Gertrude Thompson; brother, Tommy Thompson; and nephew, Bart Thrasher. Mrs. Wood is survived by children, Ricky and Linda Thompson, Kathy Nappier, Dwight and Brenda Cash, Dwayne and Suzi Cash, Selina and Lisa Cash, Rebecca Warren, Beverly Wood Englehart, Leonard and Denice Wood, Timothy and Regina Wood; fifteen grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; sister, Pat (Kenneth) Thrasher; brother, Claude (Rita) Thompson; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mrs. Wood was born on August 2, 1939 in Buford, GA. She received her education from Suwanee School, and she retired after twenty-five years from the Gwinnett County Public School System as head custodian. Mrs. Wood was a member of West Buford Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 30, 2020 at 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Rev. Arthur Southerland and Rev. Jerry Bennett officiating.  Interment will follow at Broadlawn Memorial Gardens in Buford. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, July 30 from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.
