Elder Larry Sewell, age 71, of Gainesville, Georgia, passed July 31, 2020, at Piedmont Hospital.
Born June 4, 1949, in Gainesville, Larry was the son of the late Homer Green and late Ruthie Naomi Faulkner Sewell. One of 13 children, he attended E.E. Butler High School. Following high school, he attended vocational training and picked-up many trades. He was a TNS for Norfolk Southern, and a machinist for Leece-Neville, Indalex, and Peerless Winsmith.
Larry married Peggy Shields on August 12, 1970. They would have celebrated 50 years of marriage this year.
Larry was also predeceased by his brother Hubbard Sewell. In addition to his wife Peggy, Larry leaves to cherish his memories his children: Sammy Hall, Nikki Sewell Williams (Eric), Jarrard Sewell (Kim), Steven Sewell (Sandra), Joshua Sewell (Jennifer), Cynthia Sewell (Anthony). Larry was blessed and loved by his 19 grandchildren, greatly adored by his loving Aunt Delia Jones and mother-in-law Lula Mae Bivens; brothers-in-law, James Wise and Jessie Bivens, sister-in-law, Jacquelyn McRae, and a host of extended family.
A service in remembrance for Larry's immediate family members will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, August 6, 2020, at Young's Funeral Home (Willie B. Young Chapel), 1553 Old Athens Road, Gainesville, Georgia 30507.
