Mary Lou Reed

Obituary Date: Monday, August 3, 2020

Mary Lou Reed, age 61, of Gainesville, GA passed away Monday, August 3, 2020 following an extended illness.

She was born May 10, 1959 on Mother's Day in Sacramento, California To J.B and Betty Reed. She was born to a very prominent family in Sacramento. This is were she lived most of her life. She grew up being the diamond of her mother and father's eye.  She moved to Gainesville GA 2006, where she lived out the rest of her life. Mary was a model for many years; a beautiful singer, and dancer. She danced on American Bandstand many times. She loved to swim and sunbathe, and enjoyed traveling and seeing new things. She was a true Gypsy at heart. She was a woman of great strength and love. She was this the kind of woman who would give you the shirt off her back even if  that was all she had left. She would expect nothing in return. She lived an amazing life full of lots of adventures. She loved her family immensely.
She is survived by her only child, Kristina Snow; 3 grandkids, Georgia, Thomas and Wyatt; 2 great grandchildren, Avery Lou and Oliver; brother, Jeff Reed; 2 sisters, Tricia and Linda; 3 nieces, Jamie Lou, Alycia Lou, and Kimberly Lou; boyfriend, Doug Roberts; and an amazing woman who loved her and helped her for many years, Grace Gerrell, Doug's mom.
Numerous other family members also survive.

She has many friends she met, loved and cared for over the years. She was a great light in many people's lives. She had a way of changing you forever when you met her. We used to say "you can't ever get enough of Mary Lou".

We want to say a big  thank you so much to the entire staff at Grady Hospital in Atlanta, GA. They cared for Mary through the toughest part of her life, and until the end. Many of the staff there are family to her and loved her with their whole hearts. She was far from her own family, so they stepped in and did what a lot of hospitals wouldn't have done. She was there =over 2 years. The team there in the burn unit are truly amazing and have hearts of gold.

Mom's favorite prayer was the Lord's prayer... She said it everyday!
